eBooks Corporation: About Us
eBooks Corporation is one of the world's leading providers of ebooks to customers
and retailers, libraries and patrons. Headquartered in Perth (Australia), with
satellite offices in Boston (USA) and London (UK), eBooks Corporation is an
unlisted public company. While seventy percent of eBooks Corporation's market
remains in North America, the company's location and pedigree in the Australasian
Book Industry allows a unique insight into the burgeoning Asia Pacific market.
Distributor for over one hundred publishers, including Cambridge University Press, Taylor & Francis, Pearson and Oxford University Press, eBooks Corporation was founded in Perth in January 1997 by Stephen Cole. In 1983, Stephen and Trudy Cole, created The Lane Bookshop in WA. With impeccable customer service and a superlative understanding of the market, the Lane soon had a cult following and swiftly developed into one of Australia's most successful independent bookstores. In early 1997, anticipating the evolution of a new mode of book, Stephen registered the url www.eBooks.com and the worldwide ebook group was formed.
Today, eBooks Corporation is a broad-based ebook supplier with strengths in retail, wholesale and library distribution. www.eBooks.com is a stand-alone, profitable business with impressive growth of, on average, twenty percent compound per month. This trend of rising profits over the last two years has allowed the company to expand and consolidate its ebook distribution projects, culminating in 2004 with the launch of EBL.
A member of the Open eBook Forum and the Book Industry Study Group, eBooks Corporation uses only thoroughly field-tested in-house technology and best-of-breed third party solutions. We are committed to robust, on-time, on-budget execution.
